For example, if you are looking for a government grant, be sure to search for a website which lets you find grants of "government" nature - rather than ones which are backed by private organisations.

Applying for a Grant

If you do find grants which suit your requirements, the next stage in the road is to apply for that grant. Put together as much information as you possibly can which will illustrate to the grant providers exactly why it is that they should award the grant to you.

For example - let's assume that you are applying for a home repair grant. Information you might collect could include:

• Explanation of how the grant would solve the problem.
• Engineer's report on the issue.
• Safety concerns and impact statements.

Basically, anything you can do to further convince the decision makers that you are worthy of the grant will go a long way to increasing your chances of being awarded the grant.
