Pell Grants application is a bit involved, but not too complicated. It first requires that you fill out the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). As long as you know what is required of you to fill out the application it is a fairly easy process.
Filling out your Free Application for Student Aid requires the use of information from several documents. For instance, you will need your Social Security Card, or at least the number. You also would need your driver’s license and your bank account information as well as your tax documents. You may also need your pay stubs or your W-2 forms.
Additional information you would need includes the school codes to where you would like to attend. You also need to get a PIN if you are applying online.
The application deadline dates are also important. If you want to receive the most financial aid you should turn in your application before one of the priority dates for the current year. However, you usually have until the following year to consider applying for student aid.
Additional information you would need includes your current business and investment mortgage information. If you have a farm you may need to show documentation from that, as well as records about other investments.
In order to receive the financial aid you need you should fill it out by certain deadlines. The web FAFSA application should be fill out by midnight Central Daylight Time on June 30, 2010.
Any corrections that need to be made should be made by September 21, 2010. Note though that this information is for the 2009 to 2010 school year. New deadlines would be set in place for the following year.
For the 2020 to 2011 school year FAFSA web application should be completed by midnight Central Daylight Time on June 30, 2011. Corrections should be submitted by September 15, 2011.
The above deadlines are for federal student aid, however. Keep in mind that state deadlines for financial aid are very different. Sometimes it changes from year to year, especially if you live in Wisconsin, Wyoming, Vermont, Virginia or one of a handful of other states.
Regarding deadlines: It is important that you submit it before the time you are supposed to. This will ensure that you do not miss out on either federal or state financial aid. It is different for every state remember. Furthermore, individual schools also have deadlines. It is always best to call a school ahead to find this out during the year which you would apply.
